Socio-Economics Problems in India:
India it is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area and the world's second-most populous country. Indian society has evolved over time with advancements in various fields. However, there are some social issues that need to be recognized and addressed in all communities. The safety of people, especially vulnerable groups such as the elderly, women, and children, is a key concern in contemporary Indian culture. The Dowry system, communalism, and gender-based discrimination are three of the main socioeconomic problems in India.
In Indian society, they have a dowry system that alludes to the possessions that the bride's family gives to the groom's family. This consists of passing them cash, jewelry, furniture, and even vehicles; every little thing that the couple needs, to set up their house. If we think about this, it is an enormous matter due if the bride's family does not own any wealth, they have the responsibility to get a loan from a bank to afford these items, which eventually will make them poorer, and they will be in debt for years.
When it comes to the political system, they have communalism as the political concept in the entire country. This arrives with religious and cultural diversity. Islam as the major religion since ancient times has accumulated a lot of followers, which has created different opinions about this belief, and some cultural diversity. Subsequently, it brings out divisions, wars, and conflicts based on religious and cultural topics, giving as a result a wave of violence.
Gender-based discrimination has a heavy presence in India. According to most of the constitutions around the world, equal rights should be provided to both men and women; and in India "it is supposed" to be the same. Indeed, is not, since it has been so many years since women have had the liberty to vote, own properties, and work, despite in India this been allows just a couple of years before. Women are paid less than men when it comes to salaries and not to talk about the mistreatment they received. They are abused, robbed, beaten and most of the time they end up killed.
To conclude, Indian society has definitely been improving throughout the past years until now, but there is a lot more to work on to resolve the matters that exist there. To have a result that they can be proud of; where the most susceptible ones in towns can find the protection, support, and anything they want and need, such as education, healthcare, and food without suffering to get it.
